Two deer hit minutes apart in same spot

PEABODY — Two deer were struck by two Ford vehicles at the same location on Lowell Street in a span of about 15 minutes on Wednesday night.

An officer responded to an 11:07 p.m. report that a white Ford pickup truck had struck a deer at 574 Lowell St. and determined that the driver’s side of the vehicle had been damaged and the deer killed, according to the incident log and an interview with Lt. Arthur Yeo.

The DPW was notified to remove the carcass.

Fourteen minutes later, police received a second report of a car-versus-deer accident at 574 Lowell St. — this time involving a brown Ford Escape. The deer involved in the second accident survived and ran off, police said.
