Salem man facing child porn charges flees

(Continued)

When he realized police had spotted him, he ran, according to Salem police. State police Trooper Brandon Arakelian called out to Baldwin, who then reversed direction. Salem police Detective Eric Connolly tried to block Baldwin’s path near the intersection of Warren Street.

Baldwin then ran across multiple lanes of rush-hour traffic on Essex Street, toward a strip mall, according to police. As he approached the locked gate to a playground, Arakelian managed to tackle him.

A screaming Baldwin, who police said was protesting his innocence, was then brought back to his home, where he was arrested.
