Peabody Rotary presents its 10th annual Taste of the North Shore on Tuesday, March 11, at Danversport Yacht Club, 161 Elliott St., Danvers. The event features more than 20 local restaurants serving a sample of their food specialities, entertainment, a drawing for a $10,000 grand prize, silent auction and more. Raffle tickets cost $100 each and include admission for two; only 300 tickets will be sold. The event is Peabody Rotary’s primary annual fundraiser and benefits the club’s community projects and initiatives. The 2014 Best Chef Competition to benefit Beverly Bootstraps is Monday, March 3, at 6 p.m. at the Danversport Yacht Club, 161 Elliott St., Danvers. Chefs will compete for the title of Best Chef while cooking with food pantry ingredients. Participating chefs will be Jake DiSilva of Latitude 43 in Gloucester, Chris Tighe of Salt Kitchen and Rum Bar in Ipswich, Patrick Shea of The Barrel House American Bar in Beverly and Anthony Marino of Marino’s Cafe in Beverly. Guests may also enjoy a Taste of the North Shore at sampling stations of more than 20 local restaurants and decide the People’s Choice Award in both the Savory and Sweet categories. The event includes a new raffle, cash bar, live auction and food drive. Raffle tickets are available for purchase at the event or at www.beverlybootstraps.org for $25 each or $50 for three. Attendees are encouraged to bring a food item to donate to the Beverly Bootstraps food pantry. The event benefits the food assistance, client support, adult education, and youth and family programs at Beverly Bootstraps.
