Lexus, state police cruiser collide

DANVERS — An accident involving a Topsfield driver in a Lexus and a state police trooper in a cruiser occurred at the intersection of routes 62 and 1 in Danvers yesterday afternoon, as the trooper was responding to a call with his lights and sirens on, according to state police.

The incident was reported at 12:46 p.m., state police said.

The trooper was transported to Beverly Hospital for minor injuries and treated and released shortly after the incident.

The two passengers inside the Lexus were also transported to Beverly Hospital with minor injuries.

The cruiser had damage to both passenger doors, while the Lexus sustained damage to the front of the car.

The case remains under investigation, according to state police.
