Thursday

A pit bull was reported loose in the Blaine Avenue area at 6:49 p.m. Police could not locate the dog, according to the log entry.

Peabody

Friday

A caller on Andover Drive reported smoke coming from the apartment next door, according to a 12:15 a.m. log entry. The resident of the apartment said one of her ferrets knocked a lamp over, igniting a mattress.

Police arrested William Cusumano Jr., 31, of 4 Sherman St., on charges of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration, at 7:49 a.m. on Washington Street.

An employee of American Eagle Outfitters on Andover Street reported at 10:12 a.m. that someone stole an iPad belonging to the store.

At 1:28 p.m., an employee of CVS Pharmacy on Lowell Street reported two women entered the store and stole $115 worth of merchandise.

Friday

A man was reported sleeping at a bus stop on New Derby Street at 11:04 a.m.

At 1:34 p.m., a man reported that the front passenger window of his car was shattered. The center console and glove compartment had been rummaged through, and a pair of Celtics basketball tickets totaling $160 were missing. The car was parked in a lot in the area of Chase Street.

At 3:39 p.m., police arrested Craig Lampkin, 55, 17 Court St., Boston, on charges of breaking and entering in the daytime with intent to commit a crime, larceny of property over $250, and three outstanding warrants. Lampkin was arrested on Hazel Street after a witness reported seeing a man enter someone’s garage and take a metal fan, according to a log entry.

A tree fire on Huron Street was reported at 12:34 p.m.

At 2:20 p.m., a resident on Fisher Avenue reported missing jewelry, which was pawned by his or her daughter’s boyfriend, the log entry said.

Thursday

Kids with a laser pointer were reported in the Chester Street area at 7:27 p.m.

Police arrested Kyle Kohler, 25, of 3309 Kirkbride Drive, at his home on a charge of possession of a class A drug, at 10:24 p.m.

Friday

At 9:53 a.m., a caller on Federal Street reported a man abusing a dog.
