“Get to Know the Festival Poets,” a program at the Peabody Institute Library, will discuss the work of poets who will be featured at the Massachusetts Poetry Festival, which will be held in Salem from May 2 to 4. Led by poet and Salem State University Professor Jennifer Jean, the first of six meetings will be held on Tuesday, March 25, at 12:30 p.m. at the Main Library at 82 Main St. in Peabody. The poets discussed will be: March 25, Phil Levine; April 1, Rhina Espaillat; April 8, Carol Ann Duffy; April 15, Li-Young Li; April 22, Susan Rich; and April 29, Cornelius Eady. The Anchor Pub and Grill and Jubilee Yacht Club will hold their annual Anchor Dip on Sunday, starting at noon, to benefit Care Dimensions, formerly Hospice of the North Shore & Greater Boston. Participants will take a dip into the winter waters at Sandy Point off Water Street and by the Jubilee Yacht Club in Beverly. The Peabody Institute Library presents a four-week painting class taught by local artist Paula Kulas. Classes will be held at 10 a.m. on Fridays, March 7, 14, 21 and 28, at 82 Main St., Peabody. Democrats in Salem will hold a caucus at Salem High School, 77 Willson St., Salem, at 10 a.m. tomorrow to elect 31 delegates and 21 alternates to the 2014 Massachusetts Democratic Convention in June. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. The caucus is open to all registered Democrats in Salem. Delegates will be divided equally between men and women, and all ballots will be written and secret. Youth, minorities and people with disabilities who are not elected as delegates or alternates may apply to be “add-on” delegates. The school is handicapped-accessible.
