Route 1 north jughandle closed in Peabody

The Route 1 northbound signal jughandle in Peabody will be closed to traffic through approximately 7 p.m., according to the state Department of Transportation.

Motorists will need to reverse direction at the Route 1 and Lowell Street intersection, or continue on to Route 95 north and reverse direction at the Route 114 interchange.

MassDOT encourages drivers to seek alternate routes, if possible, to avoid delays. Drivers that must travel through the affected area should expect delays and should reduce speed and use caution while approaching and traveling through the work zone and along the detour route.
