Culvert project to close Pineswamp Road in Ipswich on Tuesday

IPSWICH — A portion of Pineswamp Road will be closed Tuesday while a culvert is replaced.

The work, which will close Pineswamp Road from Linebrook Road to Emery Lane, will take place between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.

Traffic will be detoured in a loop via Washington Street, Topsfield Road, Longmeadow Drive and Fox Run Road.

School buses will use the detour route and pick up students at their regular bus stops, but pickups will be delayed, as the route will be done in the reverse order.

The road could be closed Wednesday if any unanticipated issues come up during work Tuesday, Ipswich DPW Director Richard Clarke said.

Call the DPW at 978-356-6612 with any questions regarding the Pineswamp Road project. The town has hired Paine Creek Construction to replace the 30-inch culvert.
