Police received a 4:13 p.m. report that two men seemed like they were “casing” a store on Washington Street. The caller reported other retailers in the area “have had similar issues.” Nothing was reported stolen.



A young man was hitchhiking in the area of Enon Street, according to a 6:34 p.m. report.


Police received a 6:43 a.m. report that an aircraft at 48 L.P. Henderson Road was damaged by a construction vehicle.

Railroad gates at Cole Street and Paradise Road were stuck down, according to a 6:50 a.m. report. An officer responded to the scene, and Amtrak was alerted.

Police responded to a 2:21 p.m. report of a dispute at 9 S. Hardy St. and determined that neighbors there were arguing “over leaves.”



A 2:41 p.m. report of an accident brought police to 7 First Ave., where they arrested Edward Carpenter, 46, of 1 Silverleaf Way, Lynn, on charges of drunken driving and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license (subsequent offense).

A Sarah’s Way man reported at 6:30 p.m. that $500 had been withdrawn from his bank account without his authorization.

Police received an anonymous report at 11:40 p.m. that “a hammering noise” was coming from a trailer at Mobile Estates. Residents there had been making repairs and said they would cease for the night.



Police received an 8:05 p.m. report of a possible scam from a First Street woman who said her phone had been turned off earlier in the night. “She called Comcast from a neighbor’s phone and complained because she had paid the bill. When she re-entered her apartment, the phone was back on.” Police advised the woman to speak to a Comcast supervisor “if she felt that Comcast was harassing her.”

A fire alarm was pulled at the Hawthorne Hotel, according to an 8:27 p.m. report. A hotel employee said somebody had told him two youths ran through the lobby and out the front door shortly afterward. Police were unable to locate the duo.


Police received a 10 a.m. report that a man had gotten out of a silver Toyota and taken photographs of a house at 7 Meadow St. The caller did not report a full license plate.

A woman reported at 3:04 p.m. that she was struck by the mirror of a passing vehicle while using a crosswalk at Loring Avenue and Linden Street. The driver stopped to ask if she was OK, and no injuries were reported.

After allegedly finding a man asleep beneath a table at Salem Laundry around 3:30 p.m., police arrested John Lapointe, 53, homeless, on a charge of trespassing.



Copper wire was reported stolen from Danvers Electric Light at 2 Burroughs St. at 8:44 a.m.
