---- — SALEM — The Board of Health will hold a flu clinic Tuesday from 4 to 6:30 p.m. in the City Hall Annex at 120 Washington St.
The flu shots are available to Salem residents 12 and older. Anyone with health insurance is asked to bring an insurance card.
Salem health officials recommend the vaccination for anyone with chronic illness, diabetes, heart or lung disease, cancer, a compromised immune system, or who is on aspirin therapy.
Individuals who are allergic to eggs may be at risk of an allergic reaction and are encouraged to consult a doctor before getting a shot.
Beginning Nov. 29, additional clinics will be held every Thursday by appointment from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. while the flu vaccine is available.
There are a limited number of pneumonia vaccines. Anyone who needs one should contact a public health nurse to reserve a dose.
