---- — SWAMPSCOTT — A 25-year-old Salem man was arrested Saturday at 3:24 p.m. after exposing himself to a woman in the parking lot of Marshalls department store, police said.

Ramon Almanzar, of 13 Cherry St., Salem, was arrested on charges of open and gross lewdness after being pulled over by Salem police near his home.

The woman reported to police that Almanzar pulled up next to her in a red Ford Explorer and said, “Excuse me,” before exposing himself.

“The female victim thought the male party may need direction so she turned toward the vehicle,” an email sent by police said.

An officer reported that the victim was visibly shaken from the incident.

The victim reported to police that the vehicle left the parking lot and headed toward Salem, and she was able to get a license plate. The information was passed along to other departments, including Salem police.

As Almanzar neared his street, he was pulled over by Salem police Chief Paul Tucker, according to police.
