Peabody's Minter leading SSU hockey in scoring

---- — Freshman forward Alex Minter of Peabody leads the Salem State hockey team in scoring through nine games this season.

The 5-foot-9, 170-pound Minter, who leads the Vikings in scoring with 8 goals and 13 total points, has scored a point in seven of his team’s nine contests. In MASCAC play alone, Minter is tied for the league scoring lead at 8-3-11 and has the most power play goals (3) while averaging 1.83 points per game.

A back-to-back MASCAC Rookie of the Week winner (Nov. 17 and 24), Minter had two goals and an assist in Salem State’s most recent game, a 6-1 victory over Worcester State.

Minter and the Vikings (6-3) are off until Jan. 2 when they host Babson (6 p.m.) at the Rockett Arena. They will also play UMass Boston outdoors at Fenway Park on Tuesday, Jan. 7 at 4 p.m.
