McLaughlin named Gables director

SALEM — Kara McLaughlin, interim executive director of The House of the Seven Gables since February, has been named to the post permanently.

The board of trustees at The Gables made the announcement yesterday.

McLaughlin is former president and CEO of The Survey Group, a regional compensation consulting firm. She also is a former math teacher in the Salem and Danvers public schools.

A graduate of Wellesley College, she has a master’s in business administration from Northeastern University and a master’s in education from Lesley University.

A Salem native, she and her husband, state Rep. John Keenan, live in Salem with their two children.
