---- — BEVERLY — Police say two men were arrested yesterday after officers responded to a report that a man was breaking into a basement on Woodland Avenue.
Erick Ramon Guerrero, 39, of 65 Mount Pleasant St., Lynn, was arrested on charges of breaking and entering in the daytime for a felony and possession of burglarious instruments. He was also wanted on a warrant.
Luis Jonas Algarin, 38, of 2 Holly St., Salem, was arrested on charges of possession of burglarious instruments, accessory before the fact and a violation of the city’s knife ordinance.
A 2:08 p.m. report that man was entering a basement brought police to 30 Woodland Ave., where they found an open basement door at the residence’s rear and a man later identified as Guerrero holding a pry bar, according to the incident log and a police press release.
Algarin was found inside a vehicle at the front of the residence and “told officers he was waiting for a friend,” police wrote.
“Officers observed several burglarious instruments in plain view on the floor of the vehicle,” police wrote.
Officers Erik Abrahamson, Jason Lantych and Dan Skerry responded to the address.
