An officer conducted a traffic stop on Andover Street at 11:14 p.m. and subsequently arrested James Sacco, 24, of 52 Clement Ave., Peabody, on charges of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, littering from a vehicle and possession to distribute of a class D drug.

Thursday

A 3:48 p.m. report of shoplifting at Wal-Mart on Brooksby Village Drive resulted in the arrest of Billy Delacruz, 19, of 32 Keyes Drive, Peabody, on a charge of shoplifting by asportation.

Salem

Wednesday

Police conducted a traffic stop on Hawthorne Boulevard about 8:30 p.m. and subsequently arrested Eduardo Mota Leon, 37, of 68 Henry Ave., Lynn, on charges of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, fifth offense; and having no inspection sticker.

Police responded to Victoria’s Station at 88 Wharf St. after an 11:36 p.m. report that somebody was using a stolen credit card and determined the card wasn’t stolen but the man using it had lied about his identity and was the subject of three warrants, according to the log. Subsequently arrested was Todd Miller, 29, of 32 Johnson St., Peabody, on a charge of giving a police officer a false name, in addition to the warrants.

Thursday

Police were unable to locate anything suspicious after a 1:59 a.m. report that a Bridge Street woman had “heard a basement door slam shut” and then saw a man fleeing her driveway.

An officer advised juveniles against throwing snowballs in the street and interfering with traffic after he saw them do so in the area of 64 Boston St., according to a 3:17 p.m. log item.

About 4:30 p.m., an officer at 116 Lafayette St. arrested Jefferey J. Alexander, 60, homeless, on charges of trespassing and disorderly conduct.
