A 7:59 p.m. report of a domestic dispute brought police to 47 Osgood St. William S. Costello, 49, of the same address, was arrested on a charge of domestic assault and battery.
An Endicott Street woman reported at 9 p.m. that she believed there was a raccoon on the second-story roof of her neighbor’s home. Police advised her to contact the landlord.
Police were dispatched to 1 Courageous Court after a 12:52 a.m. report that somebody had heard screaming coming from an apartment. Police spoke to two people in the suspected apartment, but they seemed “confused as to our presence,” police wrote. Then the officers spoke to the woman who reported the incident — she said the screams she heard were ”of an amorous nature, not fighting.”
Police conducted a traffic stop on Lafayette Street about 1 a.m. and arrested Samuel Nieves-Lebron, 33, of 52 Dow St., Salem, on charges of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and failure to signal.
An officer conducted a traffic stop on Loring Avenue about 1:30 a.m. and arrested Jared L. Paxton, 25, of 16 South St., Salem, on charges of drunken driving, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, attaching improper plates to a motor vehicle and a red light violation.
A man went to the police station about 3:30 a.m. to report that he felt people were following him. The man was “very concerned” for a former girlfriend and was advised to “speak with a detective about a drug and prostitution situation” involving her and another person, according to the log.
