Beverly police investigate armed home invasion

BEVERLY — Police are investigating an armed home invasion at a Highland Terrace residence yesterday morning that sent one person to the hospital.

Police declined to release many details about the incident yesterday, but officer Mike Boccuzzi said in an email that the department had received a report of a home invasion possibly involving a firearm and a knife at 8:50 a.m.

One person was transported to Beverly Hospital with undisclosed injuries following the incident; that person was later interviewed by detectives.

“At this time an investigation is ongoing, and further details will be released when they become available,” Boccuzzi wrote.
