The Fire Department was called to 312 Essex St. at 6:56 p.m. on a report of an “oven sparking.” The faulty appliance was inspected by the department.
Police pulled over an “Italian tourist” in a rental car at the intersection of Cabot and Rantoul streets after the person pulled onto the railroad tracks at 9:37 p.m. The person was given a verbal warning after it was determined the person “misjudged the turn,” according to the log item.
Copper downspouts were reported stolen from Centerville Elementary School, 17 Hull St., according to a 10:54 a.m. log item.
Janet Rijo, 46, 35 Mill St., Beverly, was arrested on a charge of larceny over $250 from Kohl’s department store at 50 Independence Way at 5:35 p.m.
Michael Cipoletti, 50, 62 Mason St., Salem, was arrested at 5:57 p.m. on a charge of shoplifting by asportation, second offense, at Wal-Mart, 55 Brooksby Village Drive.
Thomas Kearney, 33, of Lynn was arrested on a charge of operating with a license suspended for OUI after a traffic stop on Andover and Newbury streets, according to a 10:19 p.m. log item.
Zakary Bettencourt, 22, 71 Endicott St., Peabody, was arrested at 11:11 p.m. on a charge of disorderly conduct after police were called to Poplar Street on a report of a domestic dispute. Also arrested was John Mannion, 28, 6 North Central St., Peabody, on a charge of operating with license suspended, subsequent offense.
David Maniates, 18, 3 Sunnybrook Lane, Peabody, and Mario Cleve-Molleta, 19, of Framingham were arrested at 6:05 p.m. on charges of shoplifting by asportation from Wal-Mart, 55 Brooksby Village Drive.
Bryant Adrien, 26, of Salisbury was arrested on charges of unlicensed operation, defective lights and miscellaneous equipment violations during a traffic stop on Andover Street at 1:44 a.m.
Michael Galante, 29, of Lynn was arrested on charges of operating with license suspended and rejected inspection sticker after being pulled over on Andover Street at 2:45 a.m.
Michael Jablonski, 52, 10 Bridge St., Danvers, was arrested on a charge of domestic assault and battery at his address at 10:49 a.m.
A taxi driver reported to police at 4:59 a.m. that a man did not pay his fare after dropping him off at 21 Countryside Lane and said that he had a gun and was going to kill himself. The taxi driver met with officers.
Police filed a report at 7:27 a.m. on a telephone “pole that appears to have been struck with car parts scattered in the roadway” at the intersection of Central Street and Atlantic Avenue.
A pink iPhone was turned in to the police station on Pleasant Street at 1:50 p.m. An officer called “daddy” in the contacts, and the man will get in touch with his daughter to pick her up her phone. The woman picked up her phone.
Danielle T. Halderman, 42, 31 Spinale Road, Swampscott, was arrested on a charge of drunken driving at Ocean Avenue and Brown Street after being pulled over at 8:04 p.m. A woman called police saying the car was “going very slow and has already hit one curb.” A 41-year-old man in the passenger street was placed into protective custody.
A single-car crash was reported on Atlantic Avenue at 4:05 a.m., in which a 2007 Hyundai Tucson struck a tree. There was one person in the vehicle who needed to be extracted, according to the log. A man was transported to Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.
Adam C. Chandler, 29, of Lynn was arrested on charges of drunken driving and marked lanes violation after police received a report of an erratic operator at 1:40 a.m. at the intersection of Foster and Church streets.
Kimberly A. Nicolazzo, 38, of Revere was arrested during a report of an “intoxicated person” at Pilgrim Nursing Home, 96 Forest St., on warrants out of Barnstable District Court on charges of assault and battery with dangerous weapon, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest, according to a 12:21 p.m. police log item.
Jillian Colarusso, 24, 53 Northend St., Peabody, and Shakara E. McCoy, 31, were both arrested on charges of drunken driving after a crash was reported on Warren Street at 2:33 a.m.
A caller reported to police that a black Jeep “riding on two rims” drove behind Bishop Fenwick School, 83 Margin St., at 3:33 a.m. Cody Johnson, 24, 15 Scenna Road, Beverly, was arrested on a charge of drunken driving, second offense.
Mark Bleasdale, 56, of Saugus was arrested on charges of operating with a suspended license, subsequent offense, and no inspection sticker after being pulled over on Lowell and Newbury streets, according to a 9:43 a.m. log item.
A report of a “panhandler sitting on cars” on New Derby Street was filed with police at 4:44 p.m. The panhandler was moved along without incident, police said.
A “child locked in motor vehicle” was reported at 6:10 p.m. on Jefferson Avenue. The mother said the boy was locked in a 2009 Nissan Rogue. The Fire Department was able to get the car unlocked.
Nicole C. Michaud, 35, 5 Liberty Hill Ave., Salem, and Stefanie Wowk, 30, 9 Northend Ave., Peabody, were arrested on charges of domestic assault and battery at 5 Liberty Ave. at 6:23 p.m.
Kimberly Santamaria, 45, 9 Leach St., Salem, was arrested at Walgreens, 29 New Derby St., on a charge of shoplifting by concealment at 10:28 a.m.
Police were called to 16 Abbott St. for a reported domestic dispute concerning a mother and son who were involved in a verbal argument over “a soda bottle full of urine found in the linen closet of the bathroom” at 10:51 a.m. “The argument was verbal in nature and no physical assaults occurred,” according to the log item.
An employee at a store at 28 Norman St. reported to police at 11:11 p.m. that an “unknown suspect” head-butted his forehead, punched him and threw items around the store before leaving in a blue or purple vehicle. The employee said he thought the suspect was planning to shoplift, according to the log item.
Edward A. Richards, 47, 91 Bayview Ave., Salem, was arrested on a charge of domestic assault and battery at 12:19 a.m.
Janel J. Martinez, 23, 30 Pleasant St., Salem, was arrested on two counts of domestic assault and battery at 3:57 a.m. at her address. Police found a bite mark on a man’s right shoulder and bruising around his right eye.
John R. Aia Jr., 43, 79 Bridge St., Salem, was arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct at 8:40 a.m. Aia became “combative after officer Levesque stopped to check on him after he was observed to be acting in a suspicious manner on Bridge Street in the area of Omega Used Cars,” according to the log item.
A woman was “knocked to the ground” during a robbery at 90 North St. Her purse was yanked from her vehicle while she was pumping gas at 11:29 a.m., according to the log item.
Alison E. Milne, 29, 14 Cherry St., Salem, was arrested at 1:29 p.m. on a charge of trespassing. Officers in the area of Lafayette Street noticed Milne cut through the parking lot of 176 Lafayette St., a property with no-trespassing signs located throughout, police said.
A juvenile was arrested at 1:45 p.m. on Congress Street on charges of trespassing and possession of class D substance with intent to distribute.
