Beverly

Thursday

Police transported a sick homeless person to the hospital at 9:01 a.m.

Police were unable to serve a warrant at 5:35 p.m. at a Folger Avenue address because the house had burned down.

A dog was grazed by a train at 6:32 p.m. at Balch Street and Blaine Avenue, according to a report. The owner had taken care of the dog before police arrived.

Police went to Broughton Drive at 9:32 p.m. on reports of multiple cars in a parking lot with young people in cars, possibly smoking marijuana. Keith Barrett, 20, of 7 Gates St., Danvers, and Patrick Wood, 18, of 62 County Way, Beverly, were arrested on charges of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. Brett Bennett, 19, of 12 Hull St., Beverly, was arrested on an outstanding warrant. The arrests were made by Detective Sgt. Dave Faustino and Detective Dana Nicholson, with assistance from Patrolmen Harold Geary and Kevin Coletti.

Friday

Police went to Dodge Street at 1:37 a.m. on a report of an upset male who had been thrown out of the house by his girlfriend.

Salem

Thursday

A girl reported that her $400 iPod Touch and a $50 set of headphones were stolen Tuesday afternoon at Salem Common while she was at softball practice. Police said they will check footage from a video camera in the area.

Police went to Boardman Street at 4:37 p.m. on a report of a loud band. A man practicing his drums said he would stop.

Jimmy Lee Karr, 20, of 155 Fort Ave., was arrested at 9:10 p.m. at his residence on charges of domestic assault and battery and malicious destruction of property worth more than $250. Police said a warrant will be issued for a second man on charges of domestic assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (a wall).

Friday

A woman told police that she came out of her residence on New Derby Street just after 11 a.m. to find a man urinating on her car. She said the man was wearing beige khaki pants and a dark blue sweatshirt and appeared to be about 60 years old. Police searched the area but did not find the suspect.

Zachary Calmus, 20, of 205 Highland Ave., was arrested at 11:15 a.m. at his residence on charges of domestic assault and battery, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and assault and battery on a police officer (3 counts).

A report came in at 11:32 a.m. of a woman screaming on Watson Street. The woman, police said, had banged her foot.

Malicious damage to motor vehicles was reported at several locations, including Broadway and at two addresses on Loring Avenue.

Peabody

Thursday

A man reported that his two sons were assaulted while playing at Pierpont Park on Tuesday.

A resident on Holten Street called at 3:26 p.m. to report an injured hawk in the yard. The environmental police were contacted.

Terri Mercurio, 35, of 1340 Salem St., Malden, was arrested at 6:48 p.m. on Lowell Street on two drug possession charges.

The Fire Department went to Bay State Boulevard at 7:03 p.m. to put out a stove fire.

Friday

Police responded to the parking lot of Latitude Sports Club at 4:49 a.m. on a report of a man down. The man was transported to the hospital. His dog was taken to the police station for safe keeping until the dog officer arrived.

Thomas Darpino, 20, of 17 Garden Road, was arrested at 5:02 a.m. on a charge of domestic assault with a dangerous weapon. Police received a report of a man being threatened with a knife.

Middleton

Friday

John Besky, 46, of 71 East St., Middleton, was arrested at 2:50 p.m. on Maple Street on a charge of operating with a suspended license.

Nicole Karolides, 17, of 23 Esquire Drive, Peabody, and Kelsey Messina, 17, of 4 Hidden Place, Danvers, were arrested at 5:42 p.m. at Bob's Stores, 230 South Main St, on charges of shoplifting.

Marblehead

Thursday

A man was taken to the hospital with injuries to his collar bone and face after falling off his bike at 8:30 a.m. near Jersey and Guernsey streets. The man's wife told police he fell when a car pulled out of Guernsey Street, forcing him to brake quickly. The driver of the vehicle drove the man to his home, and his wife took him to the North Shore Medical Center.
