A 5:13 p.m. report that an employee of Shaw’s Supermarket at the Northshore Mall had stolen cash resulted in the arrest of Christine Knowles, 20, of 2 Coleman St., Peabody, on a charge of larceny over $250. She was also wanted on a warrant, according to the log.
Police were unable to locate anything suspicious after either a 7:29 p.m. report of gunshots on Sylvia Road or a 7:35 p.m. report of “10 gunshots in a row” near 16 Coleman St.
Police received an 8:21 p.m. 911 call from a male at an Eileen Road residence who said it was a “false alarm” and that he didn’t need assistance. “After using simple yes or no questions, it was described as a verbal argument between father and son,” wrote police. “The mother ... then got on the phone and stated that it was a verbal argument over the kids not shoveling while the parents were working.”
Police transported an impaired female to her mother’s residence on Wilson Terrace after her mother kicked her out of a vehicle for using “abusive language,” according to a 12:45 a.m. log item.
Police notified the DPW after a 4:16 a.m. report that a manhole near 18 Goldthwaite Place was missing its cover.
A Balgreen Drive woman reported at 9:18 a.m. that she had “absolutely no water in her residence,” even though she did earlier. Police wrote later: “The officer stated that the resident has an outside water tank and that may be the reason why she has no water.”
Police were unable to locate an accident involving an oil truck at Ridgefield Avenue and Lowell Street about noontime, according to a log item.
A 6:02 p.m. report of a custody dispute led to the arrest of Joseph William Duffy, 46, of 68 School St., Salem, on a charge of violating a protective ordinance.
