Joshua J. Travis, 21, of 260 Washington St., Beverly, was arrested on Derby Street by Patrolmen Deni Gaito and Rafael Gonzalez on charges of assault and battery at 4:55 a.m. at 29 New Derby St. A witness said she watched from a window as Travis pushed a woman away on Derby Street. Both the alleged victim and suspect denied that he pushed her.

No one was injured when a driver fell asleep at the wheel on Phillips Street and veered toward two parked cars, striking both of them before jumping the curb and hitting a house, which caused significant damage. The driver was issued a citation at 5:25 a.m. and will be given a summons. The individual who was inside the home refused medical attention.

Police were called to the Congress Street Market at 10:18 a.m. where a married couple had interrupted their shopping to argue over "what one another did last night as they went out separately." Police noted, "They were calling each other obscene names and accusing one another of cheating." One of them resolved to stay away for the day "until things cooled down."

A man stopped on North Street at 11:29 a.m. after making an illegal left turn will be summonsed for driving with a suspended license.

A female in her mid-40s garnered the attention of police after reports that she was ringing doorbells claiming to be an FBI agent while wearing a blue baseball cap and a pink backpack. Police were not able to find the individual near Norman Street after they received a call at 2:34 p.m.

Police responded to reports of three youths climbing on a roof at 6:01 p.m. Police located them on Washington Street, where the boys said they were just hanging out looking for something to do. "They were advised of the dangers of these actions and told to find activities a little closer to sea level," according to the log.

Police responded to a report of a fight in a Highland Avenue parking lot at 9:32 p.m.

A woman in a Lafayette Street bar was reported to have "vomited several times," according to the log at 10:09 p.m. But she was not answering questions for police, the Fire Department or the ambulance crew.

Police will summons a woman after her sister told them at 10:54 p.m. that she was assaulted by her in the Walgreens parking lot on Boston Street in a dispute over $15. The victim said she was hit in the head with a bottle, then grabbed and thrown down on the pavement. Police found no head injuries.

Jeffrey Hunter Wright, 24, of 5 Phillips St., Beverly, was arrested at 11:40 p.m. outside Murphy's Bar by Patrolmen Daniel Tucker and Shawn McLellan on a charge of being a disorderly person. According to police, Wright became belligerent as bar bouncers tried to hail him a taxi. He cursed and confronted the officers as they intervened, and when the patrons of the bar began coming outside, drawn by the commotion, he began "to yell derogatory slurs at the racially diverse crowd," according to the log. He also shouted at police, "I'm white, leave me alone," while suggesting in coarse terms that they should arrest people of Hispanic background instead. Police characterized all this as "an alarming scene." Arrested, police say, Wright refused to hold still for his booking photo and, at one point, exposed his bare buttocks to the camera.

A two-car accident was caused when one vehicle skidded on wet pavement at Highland Avenue and Hawthorne Square at 12:45 a.m. Two people went to the Salem Hospital emergency room. One driver was cited for driving too closely.

A woman told police at 1:31 p.m. that her car on Klop Alley was broken into while she worked at Tavern in the Square. A window was smashed and a bag taken.

An arrest warrant was sought for a man on Palmer Street whose neighbor said at 5:59 a.m. that he'd been hit in the temple with a beer bottle after the downstairs neighbor complained he was making too much noise and keeping him awake. The 40-ounce bottle did not shatter, according to police. The alleged victim had no visible injuries.

At 9:44 a.m., police investigated a report of a dog on Federal Street barking for more than two hours.

Some sharp police work prevented a potentially pungent situation at 10:23 a.m. Faced with a resident on Central Street who discovered a skunk stuck behind an air-conditioning unit, Patrolman Edward Vaillancourt suggested placing a piece of wood in the enclosure to create a ramp. "The skunk ultimately removed itself," according to the log, "and was observed walking in the pedestrian mall area."

A man doing his laundry at 10:43 a.m. told police he was threatened by a man who accused him of putting lipstick in his washing machine and ruining the laundry. Police hoped to speak to the man.

A woman on Broadway reported a smashed rear window at 3:04 p.m. She speculated it was broken earlier in the afternoon. There are no witnesses.

A report of a break-in of a vehicle on Swampscott Road was investigated at 5:01 p.m.

A child on Savoy Road learned about dialing 911 in school and promptly went home to try it out. Police advised the boy "that 911 is for emergencies only," according to the log at 6:21 p.m.

A man who "appeared to be drunk" told the staff at a downtown restaurant that "the place was going to get robbed by four guys with guns," according to the log at 6:59 p.m. Escorted outside, he soon disappeared.

A man complained to police at 6:59 p.m. that he brought his spaniel to meet a malamute on Central Street, but as soon as he neared it, the malamute bit his dog on the nose. He conceded that he should have asked the owner before approaching.

A credit card stolen from a Highland Avenue woman was used in an attempt to make several purchases on Sunday totaling more than $1,000. But only a $36 charge for gas in Lynn went through as the owner had alerted Citibank. The card was issued by her employer, the Social Security Administration.

Monday

Theresa Roark, 31, of 362 Hildreth St., Lowell, was arrested on North Street at 12:41 a.m. by Patrolman William Jennings on a charge of drunken driving. A witness tipped police to her unsteady gait as she pumped gas at the Hess station. Sgt. Andrew Dacy and officers Tracy O'Leary and Phil Verrette participated in the arrest.

Joseph J. Dalton, 22, of 29 Walter St., Lynn, was arrested at Lafayette Street and Loring Avenue by Patrolmen Rafael Gonzalez and Shawn McLellan on charges of driving with a suspended license, having defective equipment, marked lanes violations and possessing a Class E drug. Police saw him illegally cross a double yellow line at "approximately 1 a.m.," according to the log.

Police will seek an arrest warrant for breaking and entering on a man who kicked down a front door on Salem Street to confront his now ex-girlfriend, according to the log at 2:49 a.m. No physical contact was reported.

A Freedom Hollow Road woman recently returned from the hospital and told police at 8:04 a.m. that jewelry was stolen from the box in a nightstand by her bed. There are no witnesses.

David J. Ditty, 32, of 164 Whitehall Road, Amesbury, was arrested at 1:54 p.m. by Patrolmen Victor Ruiz, Thomas Pelletier, Sgt. Kate Stephens and Detective John Doyle on a charge of larceny. Police say Ditty went into Two Girls Shop and said he was buying a gift for his girlfriend. A clerk directed him to the appropriate section of the store but then realized he had removed $150 from the cash register. Confronted, Ditty "walked out of the store," according to the log. He was later detained on the street by Ruiz.

A man on Skerry Street told police at 2:33 p.m. that his landlord has moved an 18-year-old woman into his apartment and he "is not happy with the situation," according to the log. The woman claims to be the landlord's cousin. The man complained about the mess she makes.

Marblehead

At 11:22 a.m., a street sweeper collided with an SUV. Even though the sweeper driver "feels there is damage to the SUV and feels the driver had to have felt the impact," he didn't stop, according to the log. There was no damage to the street sweeper.

A woman reported to police at 3:34 p.m. that her son was "jumped" by three boys in the back driveway of Village School. "The three boys made racial slurs," according to the log. The mother told police she has already spoken to the three boys.

Police responded at 11:23 p.m. to a report of a fight at Maddie's Sail Loft on State Street. It was over before they arrived, however. "No one from outside or in are saying who was involved," according to the log.

Saturday

Police tagged a Mercury Mountaineer at 11:21 on Pearl Street. It had a traffic cone wedged beneath it.

A "strange male loitering in the area, spitting and looks like a vagrant. Wearing low jeans, black top and yellow cap" was revealed to be a local "acting like he normally does," according to the log at 2:03 p.m.

A report at 7:53 p.m. of kids "tearing down a fence" at Glover School resulted in a talk with a group of them. Police found no damage to a fence. The kids admitted "throwing rocks at a bigger rock." They were urged to go to Gatchells Park.

Residents on the Neck complained at 9:10 p.m. of a Mercedes "squealing its tires around corners ... multiple times."

A loose dog on Jersey Street ran out in front of a woman's car at 9:50 p.m. but wouldn't let it go at that. "The dog is now outside baying at the house," according to the log.

A woman on Village Street called at 10:06 p.m. to make a quartet of complaints. She said someone smashed a bottle nearby, cars speed all the time, kids light firecrackers and a trash barrel was dumped under the Village Street bridge. She said "that nothing gets done because 'freakin' Marblehead rich kids know nothing will happen to them," according to the log. Police investigated and report that two boys told them she "threatened to sic her dog on them after accusing them of lighting off fireworks. The boys said it wasn't them," according to the log. The woman plans to call the chief.

Sunday

A woman told police that the crosswalk "at Pleasant (Street) and Mohawk (Road) needs to be monitored. ... She just witnessed a light blue Explorer 'almost hit a small girl on a bike,'" according to the log. Police responded to the woman's concerns and resolved to check the area periodically.

Someone drew a swastika on the mirror in the ladies room at Maddie's Sail Loft, according to a 8:58 p.m log entry. Pictures were taken, and the owner will replace the mirror.

Peabody

A resident called at 2:42 p.m. from Northend Street to say he'd found a 10-year-girl who wasn't sure where her house was. Police guided the girl through the neighborhood and reunited her with her mom.

Ryan P. McDonald, 27, of 8 Whittier Place, Boston, was arrested on Washington Street at 4:41 p.m. by Officer Justin Cecil on a charge of disorderly conduct.

The 7-Eleven on Lynn Street reported at 5:48 p.m. that two teens stole about $9 worth of brownies.

A business on Caller Street asked for help at 7:56 p.m. "with homeless behind the building." Police "moved them along."

A woman reported a hit-and-run with a difference on Washington Street at 8:06 p.m. The other driver took off, she told police, even though she had caused the rear-end collision. There were no injuries, and she didn't get the license number.

The driver of a car threw debris at children on Murray Street, according to their mother at 8:25 p.m. Police were unable to locate the car.

Monday

A "good-sized water break" was reported in the log at 4:32 am. on Shillaber Street at Lark. The DPW was notified.

The animal control officer rescued an injured sea gull on Foster Street at 8:58 a.m., bringing the bird to the vet.

A two-car accident on Esquire Drive at 9:52 a.m. sent two occupants to Lahey North.

National Grid was sent to Lowell Street at 11:41 a.m. due to a strong odor of gas.

An employee of Phone Zone on Main Street found a kitten and wants to keep it. The animal control officer advised at 1:27 p.m. that a five-day waiting period is required, time for any rightful owner to come forward.

In a case of faster than they look, a turtle reportedly seen on the road at Castle Circle at 1:42 p.m. was gone before anyone could respond.

A person found fishing on Water Street at 11:43 p.m. was "sent on his way."

Monday

A homeowner reported an egg attack on the property at Appleton Avenue at 12:18 a.m.

A hydraulic line on a trash truck "blew out" on Elliott Street at 7:10 a.m. and coated a nearby vehicle in fluid. United Disposal cleaned up the mess, and police believe the fluid is "safe on painted surfaces."

A rock was reported as thrown through a window at Hale and Dane streets, according to a 8:23 a.m. log entry.

Krista K. Connors, 38, of 62 Cogswell Ave., Beverly, was arrested at 11:38 a.m. on Cabot Street on charges of falsely claiming a prescription and two counts of possession of a Class C drug. Making the arrest were officers Erik Abrahamson, April Clarizia and Darlene Prinz.

Danvers

Police were called to a dispute with a customer at the Country Store Wine Shop at 5:41 p.m.

A Bradford Road resident reported at 8:01 p.m. that a vandal shattered the sliding glass door.

In a bad stretch for the animal kingdom, a goose and a swan were reported hit by traffic on Sylvan Street at 8:57 p.m. and a skunk was hit on Juniper Ridge Road and Wenham Street only minutes later. The animal control officer was notified.

Monday

Police were called to deal with an underage party at 12:42 a.m. at the Days Inn on Endicott Street.

Cleaning supplies were reported stolen from a business on Andover Street at 7:08 a.m.
