Help stray dogs in need at the annual Strays in Need Dog Show from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., on the Peabody Institute Library’s lawn at 15 Sylvan St. in Danvers. The event includes games, raffles, a look-alike contest and a fashion parade; prizes will be awarded for several categories. All two-, three- and four-legged animals are invited to attend with their families. All proceeds will benefit the animals helped by Strays in Need, a nonprofit organization that works to rescue stray cats and dogs in the community, provide them with proper medical care, and place them into caring homes. Everyone is invited to the annual Greek Picnic, hosted by Saint Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church of Peabody, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., at Winter Island in Salem. The picnic includes delicious homemade Greek cuisine and pastries; live Greek music; a performance of traditional Greek folk dancing by the Children's Dance group; children's games; and other beach-front activities. Machine 475 will fill Peabody Street Park with electronic beats, guitar, vocals, turntables, sitar, violin, theremin, didgeridoo, vocoder, accordion and percussion sounds as part of the Peabody Street Park Concert Series in Salem. The family-friendly concert is free to the public and runs from 3 to 6 p.m. at 15 Peabody St., near Lafayette and Derby streets on the South River Walkway.
