Shutdown would impact Salem

SALEM —

In the event of a government shutdown tonight, the Salem Maritime National Historic Site would close.

The Salem Regional Visitor Center, which is run by the National Park Service, also would be closed.

Although National Park staff would not be on duty, the public would still be able to walk along the federal waterfront and wharves.
