The Ipswich Integrated Preschool Programs will offer a free developmental assessment to parents in the Winthrop district for their children, born between Sept. 1, 2009, and Aug. 31, 2011. The screening is set for Monday, March 10, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., at Winthrop Preschool, 65 Central St., Ipswich. Marblehead Museum’s online auction is set for March 7 to 16 at www.biddingforgood.com/mmhsauction and features more than 100 items, including boat trips, dining, collectibles, gift certificates and unique experiences. Items may be previewed online through today, at which point bidding begins. The auction supports the museum and its mission to preserve, protect and promote the history of Marblehead for the community and future generations. For more information, call 781-631-1768.

The Hamilton-Wenham Community House presents a cabaret-style dance party/concert with Henri Smith on Saturday, March 8, starting at 7:30 p.m., at 284 Bay Road, Hamilton. Smith and his musicians, along with guest vocalist Diane Disanto, perform jazz in the high-spirited style of a Mardi Gras festival. Attendees are encouraged to wear dancing shoes and dress in Mardi Gras costumes. Tickets cost $15 if purchased in advance at www.communityhouse.org, and $18 at the door. The Community House is handicapped-accessible and has plenty of free, off-street parking.

The preschool program at Salem State University, located at 262 Loring Ave., is currently enrolling children ages 2.9 to 5 for its six-week summer nature program and for fall. The children of Salem State University students have first priority, followed by the children of faculty, staff, alumni and the community. Registration is by appointment only, and space is limited; therefore, early registration is advised. To schedule a tour and to register, contact the preschool office at 978-542-6408.
