A resident on May Street reported at 10:18 a.m. that his or her mail and packages have not been arriving.



Matthew Beltram, 21, of 41 Tamarock Terrace, Stoneham, was arrested at 2:14 p.m. on a charge of possession to distribute a class B drug. Beltram was arrested at the Sears on Andover Street after a Peabody detective reported possible drug activity in the third-floor bathroom.

At 3:47 p.m., police arrested Mokeddem Ahmed, 19, of 185 Essex St., Melrose, on a charge of shoplifting over $100 by concealing merchandise, from the Macy’s on Andover Street.

Police arrested Joseph Castiello, 43, of 370 Ferry St., Everett, at 5:07 p.m. on charges of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and operating a motor vehicle without an inspection sticker after a traffic stop in the area of Lake Street and Butternut Avenue.


Katrina Mason, 19, of 22 Windsor Ave., Lynn, was arrested at 3:37 a.m. on charges of possession of an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle, person under 21 in possession of liquor and furnishing a false name. Mason was arrested on Glen Drive.

At 7:36 a.m., police arrested Walter Lopez, 22, of 51 School St., Lynn, on charges of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, and operating an uninsured motor vehicle, in the area of Christina Drive and Summit Street.

An officer reported a past larceny at 11 a.m. at the Gulf Station on Newbury Street. A handgun was shown during the incident, the log said. The officer will forward the information to the Criminal Investigation Unit.

An employee from the Victoria’s Secret on Andover Street reported at 1:35 p.m. that he or she witnessed two women steal about $500 worth of merchandise.



Police arrested Isiah Gagnon, 18, at 5:29 p.m. on charges of domestic assault and battery, and two counts of domestic assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. Gagnon was arrested at the Plummer Home for Boys on Winter Island Road where he currently lives.


The driver of a work van reported at 9:48 a.m. that the car lost its brakes on North Street and he drove into a snowbank to stop the vehicle. He was OK and called for a tow, the log said.



A mailman that usually serves a route on Endicott Avenue reported at 3:19 p.m. that the mail has been piling up at one of the homes for the last two days. He said that normally people on his route notify him when they are going away so they can have their mail put on hold, but when he spoke to a neighbor, they said they have not seen or heard from the residents either. They also haven’t seen the dog that lives at the house. An officer spoke to the resident, who said he was on vacation.



A caller on Barnstable Street reported several kittens making noise at 7:55 a.m. The caller felt that the cats may be at risk because of the cold, the log item said.

Police arrested Adilis Romirez, 39, of 231 Essex St., Lynn, at 9:46 a.m. on Essex Street on charges of unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and failure to stop at a red light. Romirez was also arrested on an active warrant.



Police arrested Steven Taylor, 26, of 115 H Street, South Boston, at 10 p.m. on a charge of shoplifting by price tag tampering. Taylor was arrested at the Kohl’s on Independence Way.


At 6:22 a.m., police arrested Kevins Lopes, 21, of 2 Old Colony Lane, Arlington, on a warrant for violating an abuse prevention order, at Motel 6 on Newbury Street.

A resident of Chase Street reported at 10:03 a.m. that her dog was attacked by another dog.
