Justine Perez, 20, of 49 Butler St., Salem, was arrested on a charge of larceny of property valued at more than $250 following a report of a shoplifter at Target on Independence Way at 3:51 p.m.



Police took a report at 9:40 a.m. of a possible past burglary at a Williams Street home.

Police took a report of a stolen coat from a 70-year-old woman visiting the Beverly Public Library at 10:07 a.m.

Police are investigating a report of threats toward a police officer made via Facebook at 11:27 a.m.

Jaime Stavros, 32, of 4 Sophia Road, Salem, was arrested on charges of possessing class B drugs, assault and battery on a police officer, resisting arrest, driving an uninspected vehicle, and driving with defective equipment at 1:43 p.m. following a stop on Bridge Street.

Police spoke to a man panhandling on Park Street at 6:34 p.m. They noted that he had a large wooden pepper shaker in his waistband.



Gary Lentini, 53, of East Boston was arrested at 3:26 p.m. on a charge of domestic assault and battery, following a report of a domestic disturbance on Guernsey Street. Following his arrest, he was taken to Salem Hospital for evaluation of chest pains but then cleared to be sent to Middleton Jail.


A small fire that started on the deck of The Barnacle on Front Street at 1:36 a.m. was quickly knocked down by firefighters; police alerted the owner of the building.

A skunk was the only casualty in a collision between a car and a pole or tree on Atlantic Avenue at 7:24 a.m. No humans were injured in the crash.
