Emotions Anonymous, a 12-step organization similar to Alcoholics Anonymous, will meet weekly for the purpose of working toward recovery from emotional difficulties. Members are from many walks of life and are of diverse ages, economic statuses, and social and educational backgrounds. The only requirement for membership is a desire to become well emotionally. Meetings are held at Beverly Hospital on Tuesdays from 7 to 9 p.m. For more information, call Murray at 978-535-7676.

The Friendly Garden Club of Beverly will award a scholarship to high school seniors from Beverly who are pursuing a college career in environmental science, horticulture, botany, floral design, landscape design, conservation or related fields for the 2014-2015 academic year. AARP volunteers will be available by appointment to meet with Peabody senior citizens and medium- to low-income residents on the following days through April 15 in Peabody: Mondays, 11:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m., at Peabody Institute Library’s West Branch, 603 Lowell St.; Thursdays, 4:45 to 8:30 p.m., at the South Branch, 78 Lynn St.; and Tuesdays, 9 a.m. to noon, at Torigian Community Life Center, 79 Central St. Schedule an appointment by calling the preferred location: West Branch, 978-535-3354; South Branch, 978-531-3380; or the Community Center, 978-531-2254.

Who Knows? is an afternoon program of courses for middle school students. It will be offered at Pingree School in South Hamilton beginning Friday, April 4. Classes are open to all area students and will meet Fridays for five weeks from 4 to 5:30 p.m. The classes include robotics, engineering, filmmaking, creative knitting, acting and creating art books. Each course costs $50. Parents may drop off students or stay on campus during class and enjoy coffee or tea in the school’s Alumni Room.
