The application deadline for the Danvers Garden Club Scholarship is Friday, March 28. North Shore Community Development Coalition and Salem State University have partnered to present a Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program to provide income tax preparation to low-income taxpayers throughout the region. This year, SSU’s business school students will volunteer at North Shore CDC, 102 Lafayette St., Salem, to prepare income taxes for low-income taxpayers. Appointments are available through April 11 on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., and Fridays from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. North Shore CDC is an IRS-sponsored site. Emotions Anonymous, a 12-step organization similar to Alcoholics Anonymous, will meet weekly for the purpose of working toward recovery from emotional difficulties. Members are from many walks of life and are of diverse ages, economic statuses, and social and educational backgrounds. The only requirement for membership is a desire to become well emotionally.
