A Salem woman was having a bad day; not only did she trip and fall near the Dunkin’ Donuts on Boston Street at 4:23 p.m., but police responding to the scene found out that she was wanted on a default warrant in a 2011 drug possession case. She was taken into custody.

A resident of Norman Street reported the theft of a wallet, possibly by a house guest, at 5:05 p.m.

A Highland Avenue resident reported the theft of items from his home, including a flat-screen television, cable box, 15 Xanax pills and a wrought-iron stand at 9:37 a.m. The thefts occurred sometime between March 11 and 14, he told police.

Stephen Yescalis, 46, of 8 Aberdeen Ave., Peabody, was arrested at 4:35 p.m. at that address on a charge of assault and battery.

A 17-year-old girl was arrested on a shoplifting charge at Northshore Mall at 6:11 p.m.

An employee at The Cheesecake Factory reported to police at 6:37 p.m. that he was struck in the back of the head with a pair of tongs by a co-worker.

An elderly woman on Hanover Court was taken to the hospital at 11:48 p.m. after suffering a fall in her home sometime during the weekend. Her son had gone to the home after family members were unable to reach her on Saturday and Sunday.

A driver was given a ticket for failing to use caution after failing to look to his left and cutting off a police cruiser while turning right from Federal Street onto Rantoul Street at 6:06 p.m. The officer noted that the driver tossed something as he approached; it turned out to be a marijuana pipe, which was confiscated and destroyed.

Monday

Two men were arrested at 11:38 a.m. following a traffic stop near the intersection of Bridge Street and County Way. Hector DeJesus, 20, of Lynn was charged with possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, driving after license revocation, speeding and forgery or misuse of a motor vehicle document. His passenger, Joshua Delgado-Peralta, 23, was charged with possession of cocaine with intent to distribute and providing false information to a police officer.

A man was arrested after allegedly punching a glass door at Gloria Foods at 268 Rantoul St. at 12:13 p.m. Nkrumah Toney, 21, of Malden, was charged with malicious destruction of property valued at more than $250.

Police took a report of a shoplifting from the One Stop Market on Cabot Street at 3:10 p.m. A bottle of Jagermeister had been taken from the store on Saturday.

The driver of a vehicle towing a boat was stopped at the intersection of Essex Street and Old Rubbly Road at 6:14 p.m. after police received reports that the shrink wrap on the vessel was coming off the boat, sending chunks of ice onto the roadway. The driver pulled over to rectify the situation, according to police.

Lindsay Consoli, 26, of 51 Bartholomew St., Peabody, was arrested on a charge of larceny of property valued at more than $250 following a report of shoplifting at Kohl’s in Liberty Tree Mall, 50 Independence Way, at 12:21 p.m.
