A Cherry Street resident contacted police at 7:40 a.m. to report a child who was refusing to go to school.

A Hemenway Road resident reported a stolen necklace at 12:16 p.m.



A caller reported several hay bales on fire at 4:11 p.m. in a vacant lot on Wallis Street. The Fire Department quickly extinguished the fire.

A tenant in a Washington Street apartment building was told to keep his pit bull out of the hallway and in his apartment.

At 6:12 p.m., a caller reported a small silver van turned from First Avenue onto the railroad tracks. The driver of the vehicle, a 54-year-old man, said he was taking photographs for a class. Police told him to move his car off the tracks.

Damien Willette, 29, of 13 Gallant Road, Peabody, was arrested on Lynnfield Street at 8:34 p.m. on a temporary warrant on two charges of domestic assault and battery and one count of threats.

Melvin Perez, 21, of Lynn was arrested at 10:13 p.m. on Lake Street at Scribner Road on charges of driving a motor vehicle without a license and speeding.


A 98-year-old resident of Fulton Street was taken to Salem Hospital at 8:34 a.m. after police received a report she had fallen and was unconscious.

Michael Seward, 48, of 266 Newbury St., was arrested at 10:30 a.m. on a charge of drunken driving following an accident on Tremont Street. Police received a report of a white van hitting a pole. He also faces motor vehicle charges from an outstanding warrant.

A police cruiser was damaged at 10:34 a.m. when it was hit by a car backing out of the Hannaford parking lot on Lowell Street.



An Essex Street woman reported at 8:19 a.m. that two black cement urns valued at $200 each were stolen from her back porch.
