Salem Theatre Company presents Tom Stoppard’s award-winning comedy “Heroes,” on stage through April 12, with performances playing Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m., and Sundays at 3 p.m., at 90 Lafayette St., Salem. The play is about war heroes Gustave, Henri and Philippe who plot an escape from their retirement home. General admission is $25, $20 for seniors and $10 for students. “Get to Know the Festival Poets,” a program at the Peabody Institute Library, will discuss the work of poets who will be featured at the Massachusetts Poetry Festival, which will be held in Salem from May 2 to 4. Led by poet and Salem State University Professor Jennifer Jean, the second of six meetings will be held on Tuesday, April 1, at 12:30 p.m. at the Main Library at 82 Main St. in Peabody. The poets discussed will be: April 1, Rhina Espaillat; April 8, Carol Ann Duffy; April 15, Li-Young Li; April 22, Susan Rich; and April 29, Cornelius Eady. Wenham Museum’s annual Draw Me a Story exhibit, which this year features “Alphabets and Animals,” will be on display through March 30 at 132 St., Wenham. The Friendly Garden Club of Beverly will award a scholarship to high school seniors from Beverly who are pursuing a college career in environmental science, horticulture, botany, floral design, landscape design, conservation or related fields for the 2014-2015 academic year.
