A caller reported to police at 6:38 that his twin brother had taken his license and is refusing to return it. The caller said his brother does not have a valid license, and he is concerned that he will go to the Registry of Motor Vehicles to obtain a duplicate. The caller said they also have similar tattoos, but he has a shamrock on his thumb. The man was told to notify the RMV.

A caller reported a large piece of metal hanging from the old Press Box building at 9 Park St. at 9:57 p.m. The caller was concerned that the metal could fall off and hit someone. Police called Windover Construction. Later, the director of customer service went to the building and said it does not pose a problem because it is nailed securely underneath. A crew will deal with it in the morning.

Police were able to get on the train bridge at 62 Pleasant St. at 10:34 p.m. and pull down orange fencing that was causing a road hazard.


Various items of silverware were located under a bush at 20 Washington St. and turned in to police at 9:09 a.m.

Police stood by at 40 Woodland Ave. as the Department of Public Works removed a homeless camp at 11:12 a.m.



Police responded to a report of a tree down in the roadway at Ingersoll Parkway and Ingersoll Street at 5:52 p.m.

A cracked tree was reported on Charter Street at 6:09 p.m.


Police arrested Robert J. Walsh, 44, of 14 Bennington St., Quincy, at Chili’s Grill and Bar at 10 Newbury St. at 1:53 p.m. and charged him with driving with a suspended license and registration.



A hit and run accident was reported at Pleasant and Cross streets at 7:51 a.m. The woman was stopped in traffic turning left from Pleasant on to Vine Street when a white SUV behind her honked, hit her car, then went around her and continued into town. There were a lot of witnesses, but no one got the license plate. The victim’s 2011 Ford Focus SE was not damaged.
