Tuesday

Police received a 10:44 p.m. report of a disturbance at 58 Cabot St. and arrested John Foss, 45, of 62 Cabot St., Beverly, on a charge of domestic assault and battery.

Wednesday

Police responded to a 2:13 p.m. complaint that loud music had been playing at 45 Balch St. since 6:30 a.m. and advised a person there to turn it down.

Salem

Tuesday

Police received a 6 p.m. report that a man was sleeping in a doorway at 7 Dodge St. “Moved along,” police wrote.

A 9:40 p.m. report of smoke in a house brought police and the Fire Department to 43 Union St., where they determined it was due to a burner issue and there was no fire.

Police responded to a 10:50 p.m. report of a domestic dispute at 99 Canal St. and determined that a boyfriend and girlfriend were arguing over who owned an Xbox.

Wednesday

A Pope Street woman reported at 4:17 a.m. that “she was in her bedroom when she saw a shadow on the wall.” Police wrote: “The shadow was there for about 10 minutes. There was no evidence of tampering with the locks on the door. There was nothing missing from her apartment.” The woman said she believed her neighbor had gotten inside.

A small mulch fire at 33 First St. was extinguished by the Fire Department, according to a 9:04 a.m. log item.

At 9:13 a.m., an officer at 94 Washington St. arrested Matthew Donovan, 30, of 175 Boston St., Salem, on a charge of disorderly conduct.

A Peabody Street woman reported at 9:26 p.m. that somebody had broken into her apartment overnight and stolen her house keys. According to the log, the woman said there was nothing else taken from the home and no signs of forced entry.

A 1:34 p.m. report of two suspicious people brought police to Salem Laundry at 111 Canal St. “Both parties were advised to cease the public display of affection due to their behavior making the other customers uncomfortable,” police wrote. “They complied without an argument.”

Tuesday

A wallet was stolen from a vehicle at 10 Harbor St., according to a 6:26 p.m. report.

An 11:19 p.m. report of a domestic dispute at 6 D’Orlando Way resulted in the arrest of Edson Teixeira, 50, of the same address, on a charge of domestic assault and battery.
