John Mekelatos, 18, of 29 Belmont St., Beverly, was arrested and charged with assault and battery.
Renee Howard, 49, of 20 Highland Ave., Beverly, was arrested and charged with assault and battery.
At 10:41 p.m., police responded to 310 Hale St. to disperse a large crowd of students. Police called for backup because the crowd was estimated at more than 100 people. Five people were issued court summons for disturbing the peace.
At 7:06 p.m., police received a call about an erratic driver on Hawthorne Boulevard. Thomas Frithsen, 65, of 28 Madison Square, Gloucester, was arrested and charged with drunken driving and negligent driving to endanger.
Police responded to 227 Highland Ave. at 8:02 p.m. for a report of a man going through a woman’s purse. Christopher Manzi, 41, of 45 Center St., Lynn, was initially arrested and charged on two outstanding warrants for larceny. When Manzi was searched at the police station, police said they found Manzi had a container of pills. He was also charged with illegal possession of class E and class C substances.
At 2:42 p.m., a Granite Road caller reported a raccoon was up a tree with a mayonnaise jar stuck on its head. The animal control officer responded and freed the raccoon, police said.
Police responded to JC Penney, 210 Andover St., at 3:26 p.m. Neema Mweze, 18, of 128 Shore Drive, Peabody, was arrested and charged with larceny over $250.
At 2:30 p.m., police responded to JC Penney, 210 Andover St. Lisa Abkarian, 28, of 315 Albion St., Apt. 2, Wakefield, was arrested and charged with shoplifting by concealing merchandise.
Emergency crews responded to Columbus Road at 3:17 p.m., where a man had fallen 8 to 10 feet off a ladder. He was transported to the hospital.
James Pempsell, 28, of 132 Main St., Saugus, was arrested and charged with a marked lanes violation and driving with a suspended license during a 3:48 p.m. vehicle stop.
Police responded to Stop & Shop, Howley Street, at 6:57 p.m. Ronald Bulger, 54, of 5 Abbott St., Salem, was arrested and charged with shoplifting.
At 9:24 p.m., Robert Bouffard, 63, address listed as “homeless, Peabody,” was arrested and charged with violating a restraining order.
Police responded to a report of a fight at the Roadhouse Pub, 55 Pulaski St., at 11:55 p.m. Police reported the fight was over upon their arrival. One male was transported to the hospital.
A Shore Drive resident called police at 4:23 a.m. because her carbon monoxide alarm was chirping. Police responded and changed the batteries in the alarm.
At 5:01 p.m., police, fire and ambulance responded to Pleasant Street and Mohawk Road, to a vehicle accident with a pedestrian struck. Police reported the patient was stable but complained of lower-leg pain and was transported to Salem Hospital.
At 11:48 p.m., police responded to a vehicle crash at 29 Mugford St. The front stairs of the building had been destroyed by a vehicle that hit the building and fled the scene, according to police. A witness gave police a license plate number. Police found the vehicle at a home in town, parked with front-end damage. They entered the house to check for a possibly injured driver. Police found a female in bed who was initially unresponsive but later regained consciousness, according to police. She was transported to the hospital.
Debra Digan, 34, of 586 Eastern Ave., Lynn, was arrested and charged with speeding and driving with a revoked license during a 10:06 p.m. vehicle stop on Paradise Road.
Tranh Tran, 24, of 454 Chestnut St., Lynn, was arrested and charged with drunken driving, an equipment violation, improper operation of a motor vehicle and negligent operation of a motor vehicle during a 1:26 a.m. vehicle stop on Humphrey Street.
At 9:18 p.m., police received a report from 45 Blaney St. that the “first floor (is) having a party and (the) smell of pot is bothering other tenants.”
