Overseer named for Salem school

SALEM — A retired Somerville school administrator has been named overseer of the Bentley Elementary School.

Pauline Lampropoulos, a Lynnfield resident, is the former principal of the West Somerville Neighborhood School and has held other administrative positions in the Somerville public schools.

She began yesterday as the so-called “overseer” at Bentley, where she will work with administrators and staff to help turn around the under-performing school.

“It is our hope that Pauline’s experience and a ‘fresh set of eyes’ will enable us to collectively assess the turn-around efforts underway at Bentley and what further steps we need to take to move forward in improving student success there,” Superintendent Stephen Russell said in a statement.
