---- — SALEM — The federal government shutdown has forced the postponement of a lecture tonight at the National Park Service’s Visitor Center.
Fara Courtney, director of the U.S. Offshore Wind Collaborative, had been scheduled to speak on the status of the offshore wind industry around the world and in the Northeast.
This is the second program in a Climate Change in New England lecture series sponsored by Salem Sound Coastwatch that has been postponed because of the shutdown, which forced the closure of the Visitor Center on New Liberty Street.
The lecture series is “on hold” until the federal budget issue is resolved and the visitor center is reopened, Salem Sound Coastwatch said in a statement.
