Police attended to a homeless person passed out on church steps at Cabot and Bane streets at 10:16 a.m.

Jeffrey S. Brown, 48, no address, James E. Carter, 58, and Ronald Dickerson, 61, both of 62 Pleasant St., Beverly, were all arrested, as logged at 10:52 a.m., at Cabot Street and Blaine Avenue, each on a charge of having an open container of alcohol. Carter was also accused of violating the city’s knife ordinance. Participating in the arrest were patrolmen Michael Backstrom, Erik Abrahamson and Detectives Darlene Prinz and Jeff Tache.

Police assisted in dealing with a shoplifter at Stop & Shop on Elliot Street, as logged at 2:39 p.m.

Jason Richard MacNeil, 43, 205 Rantoul St., Beverly, was arrested, as logged at 3:29 p.m., at McKay and Sturtevant streets by Patrolman Michael Backstrom on a charge of driving with a suspended license.

Yves Menard, 37, 58 Essex St., Beverly, was arrested, as logged at 8:07 p.m., by Patrolman Michael Henebury and Detective Dana Nicholson on charges of having an illegal firearm, possessing cocaine with intent to distribute and not having an inspection sticker on his vehicle. He was stopped on Cabot Street.

Abby Elizabeth Papagelis, 20, 12 Patricia Road, Danvers, was arrested, as logged at 11:37 p.m., by Patrolmen Michael Henebury and Joshua Pickett on charges of drunken driving, marked lane and equipment violations. Police had noted a “car driving on rim” with “front-end damage.”

Saturday

Anne-Marie Fischer, 27, 11 Savoy Road, Hamilton, was arrested, as logged at 11:07 a.m., on Tozer Road by officers Joshua Pickett and April Clarizia on charges of driving with a suspended license, reckless endangerment, negligent driving and marked-lane violations.

Police investigated a disturbance involving dog walkers on Cabot Street at 12:32 p.m.

The report at 5:24 p.m. of a phone stolen from a Maryland man at the Cummings Center drew police.
