A tomato plant was reported vandalized after being thrown at 12 Pickett St., according to a 1:17 p.m. report.

Abdelilah Bahraoui, 47, 72 Cabot St., Beverly, was arrested on a charge of domestic assault and battery at 10:01 p.m. Police had to call in a interpreter to assist in the arrest, according to the log item.


The Fire Department battled a “large outdoor fire” on Hale Street near Prince Street, which was reported by a neighbor at 6:15 a.m. It was a deep-seated fire that started Friday and was also reignited on Sunday, as well, fire officials said. The fire covered about three-quarters to 1 acre of land. No injuries were reported. Firefighters remained on the scene until about 8:30 a.m. Several area departments provided station coverage.

A car struck the rear of a parked fire truck on Hale Street at 7:54 a.m.

Police dispersed homeless people sleeping at the side door of First Baptist Church, 221 Cabot St., according to an 11:58 a.m. report.



A male was reported drinking alcohol in the parking lot of Kappy’s Liquors, 158 Andover St, at 5:49 p.m.


Electronics were reported stolen in a car break-in the parking lot near Panera Bread, 100 Independence Way, at 3:45 p.m.



A 14-year-old was arrested on a charge of shoplifting over $100 by concealing from Sears, 210 Andover St., at 6:31 p.m.


Police responded to Marriott Hotel, 8A Centennial Drive, for a “highly intoxicated male on grounds” at 12:21 a.m. The man was located, and “he returned to his room for the evening,” the log item said.



Carol J. Oliver, 49, of Lynn was arrested on a charge of domestic assault on Loring Avenue at 7:04 p.m.


Travis S. Duclow, 23, 211 Jefferson Ave., Salem, was arrested on a charge of nighttime breaking and entering with intent to commit a crime, according to a 12:14 a.m. log item. Police responded to Klop Alley on a report of someone trying to steal a motor vehicle.

Michael R. Douglas, 27, homeless, was arrested on a charges of trespassing, malicious damage over $250 and resisting arrested near Rainbow Terrace at 2:51 a.m.

Salem State University police arrested Timothy G. Wells, 25, of Woburn, at 95 Margin St. on warrants for trespassing and assault and battery with dangerous weapon, according to a 1:07 p.m. log item

Gener A. Gonzalez, 19, was arrested on a charge of possession with intent to distribute drugs (heroin) in a school zone on Lynch Street at 4:08 p.m.



Swampscott police assisted Salem police with a “party” they are investigating on Essex Street and Mall Access Road at 7:42 p.m. Salem police took the suspect into custody.
