Police: Heroin seller, buyer arrested

SALEM — Police say a man and a woman were arrested Monday afternoon after officers saw them conduct a heroin deal on Perkins Street.

Gener A. Gonzalez, 19, of 40 Park St., Salem, was arrested on charges of distribution of a class A substance and distribution in a school zone.

Aja Terese Klanfer, 29, of 116 Lafayette St., Salem, was arrested on a charge of illegal possession of a class A substance, subsequent offense.

Members of the department’s Special Response Unit were patrolling the area of Perkins and Lynch streets about 4 p.m. when they observed a hand-to-hand drug transaction, according to the incident log.

Gonzalez was allegedly selling the heroin, Klanfer allegedly buying it.

It was unclear how much heroin was involved.
