Salem school forum tonight

SALEM — The six candidates for School Committee will take part in a public forum tonight from 7 to 9 p.m. at Nathaniel Bowditch School.

This will be the last chance for voters to see all of the candidates before the Nov. 5 election.

The candidates include incumbents Janet Crane, Lisa Lavoie and Brendan Walsh, and challengers Rachel Hunt, Rick Johnson and Patrick Schultz. They are vying for three open seats on the seven-member board.

The Community Conversation about Public Education, moderated by Salem News Editor Dave Olson, is sponsored by the Salem Education Foundation. Free child care and Spanish translation will be provided.

Tom Dalton can be reached at tdalton@salemnews.com.
