FBI rifles from SWAT vehicle are stolen in Andover

FBI posts reward of up to $20,000 for information leading to recovery of the weapons

“The FBI continues to devote significant resources to locate these weapons, determine who stole them and remove them from the possession of the unauthorized individual(s) who may have them,” the FBI said in a press release.

“All local, state and federal law enforcement agencies were quickly made aware of the theft through various means including the Commonwealth Fusion Center and Boston Regional Intelligence Center,” the statement said.

“Investigating the theft along with the FBI and Andover Police are members of the Violent Crimes Task Force, which is composed of the Somerville, Malden, Saugus, Cambridge, Boston and Massachusetts State Police. Other federal, state and local law enforcement agencies have offered and provided their assistance to locate the stolen weapons.”
