Two men were arrested during a traffic stop at 6:45 p.m. on Park Street after police smelled a strong odor of marijuana and found various weapons in the vehicle, according to police. Jarrod M. Grinnell, 25, 15 Wheeler St., Peabody, the passenger, was arrested for violating the city’s knife ordinance after police said they found a folding knife exceeding 2 inches in a holster near the small of his back. The driver, Ryan R. Maker, 38, 5 Charles St., Beverly, was arrested on charges of possession of class D substance, failure to use care and violating the city’s knife ordinance. When police questioned the smell of marijuana, Maker handed police a marijuana pipe and said, “Here this is what you are smelling,” police said. Besides the knives on the men, there were various other knives and tools found in the vehicle, including a 3-pound hammer.

Someone reported “bloody clothes in street” at the intersection of Charnock and Knowlton streets at 10:11 a.m.

A car was reported “keyed” at Monkey Joe’s, 10 Newbury St., at 6:09 p.m.

Michelle King, 26, of Lynn was arrested on charges of drunken driving, second offense, marked lanes violation and lights violation, according to a 1:33 a.m. log item.

Amanda Maddock, 23, 6 Cheever St., Danvers, was arrested at 3:50 a.m. at her address on charges of domestic assault and battery and intimidation of witness.

A caller at the Peabody Institute Library reported that someone was “throwing rocks at ducks” at 11:03 a.m. But police were unable to find anyone, according to the log item.

Carl A. Vitello, 27, of Revere was arrested on a charge of shoplifting by asportation from Sears, 210 Andover St., according to a 3:04 p.m. log item.

Maria C. Giacalone, 41, 76 Catherine Drive, Peabody, was arrested at 4:06 p.m. on a charge of shoplifting by concealing merchandise over $100 at Sears, 210 Andover St. Giacalone reportedly was seen running on foot through the parking toward Route 114, according to the log item.

Police were called to Spring Pond on Lynn Street at 4:59 p.m. for a small brush fire. The Fire Department extinguished the fire.

A caller reported to police at 8:46 p.m. that the two driver’s-side tires of a motor vehicle were slashed at 2 Davis Terrace. The damage is estimated to be $900.

Stephen McCarthy, 45, 19 Marta Terrace, Peabody, was arrested on three counts of domestic assault and battery, according to an 8:51 p.m. log item. The report was called in from the basement of the home, according to the log.

A caller reported a “car into a fence” at 9:30 p.m. at 11 Glenway Ave. The car was towed, according to the log item.

Several limousines were reported to have had all four tires slashed at the Roadhouse Pub, 55 Pulaski St., according to a 12:19 a.m. report. The value of the tires was reported to be $200 each.

A man at 39 Endicott St., Apt. 7, reported to police at 5:03 p.m. that when he returned home, there was Elmer’s Glue on his doorknob and dead bolt. He was “advised to take a wet towel and wipe it off,” according to the log item.

Monday

Police responded to the Hawthorne Hotel, 18 Washington Square, at 1:49 a.m. on a report of an unknown man sleeping in the boiler room. John N. Callahan, 46, homeless, was arrested on a charge of trespassing and a warrant. Callahan previously had a no trespass order issued to him, according to police.

Lawrence J. Ianetta, 46, 190 Lafayette St., Salem, was arrested on a charge of shoplifting from Target, 227 Highland Ave., at 1:44 p.m. Ianetta allegedly removed a pair of gloves and hat and placed them in his coat before leaving the store, according to the log item.
