Danvers resident to compete on 'Jeopardy!'

DANVERS — If you tune in to “Jeopardy!” tonight you might see a familiar face. Danvers resident Michelle Leppert, who is also a senior managing editor at HCPro, will be competing in the TV quiz show.

“Hi, I’m Michelle Leppert from Danvers. Watch me put a hex on the competition on Jeopardy,” says Leppert in a video introducing this week’s contestants.

She’s a Pennsylvania State University grad and has a background in journalism with nine years as a sportswriter and editor at newspapers in Pennsylvania and Ohio before joining HCPro in 2007, according to an online profile. HCPro, based in Danvers, is a provider of information, education, training and consultation on healthcare issues.

Tonight’s show airs at 7:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. Check your local listings.

This is the third time a Danvers resident has appeared on the show in recent years. Danvers High grad Erin McLean actually won $100,000 and the college champ title in 2010 while a sophomore at Boston University. She was the first BU student ever to win the college series.

McLean then reappeared in 2011 for the Tournament of Champions series.
