You can’t burn leaves in Salem. A man on Andrew Street got the message from Salem firefighters in mid-burn, as logged at 4:15 p.m.
Carmen Deleon-Diaz, 39, Lovers Leap Ave., Lynn, was arrested, as logged at 4:39 p.m., on Broad Street by Patrolman Eric Gagnon on a charge of driving without a license and having illegally tinted windows.
A man on Linden Street who let a friend sleep on his couch reported to police at 6:39 p.m. that he’s lost both his friend and his silverware, which was apparently stolen by his guest. He doesn’t want the matter pursued, but he doesn’t want to see his friend again either.
Bouazza Ould-Sahraouia, 29, 507 Main St., Malden, was arrested, as logged at 7:53 p.m., on Highland Avenue by Patrolman Shawn Baran on a charge of shoplifting at Wal-Mart.
A man will be summonsed for doing his friends a favor: buying alcohol for four underage buddies who were left sitting in the car while the suspect went into Loring Liquors on Loring Avenue. Police watched the whole thing, as logged at 9 p.m.
A family visit led to a visit from police at 11:02 p.m. on Langdon Street after a woman told officers that her brother had gotten into a fight, exchanging words with her, which led her husband to tell brother “not to talk to his wife in such a tone a voice.” The response that followed included wrestling from the kitchen to the bedroom, biting and efforts to gouge out an eye. The wife was also knocked to the floor when she tried to pull the brother off her husband, according to the log. Police filed two charges of domestic assault and battery and one of assault against brother.
A security guard at Shetland Park spotted two women throwing rocks at the window of a parked car on Congress and Ward streets. The pair then jumped back into their own vehicle and drove away, as logged at 4:57 a.m. The guard furnished a description of the vehicle.
