Vanessa M. Grande, 22, of 6 Radcliff Road, Beverly, was arrested following a report of a theft by an employee at the Abercrombie Kids store in Northshore Mall at 2:34 p.m. She was charged with larceny over $250 and issued a no-trespassing order for two years.
A caller reported that a motor vehicle hit a school bus at the corner of Lynn Street and Winnegance Avenue and fled the scene at 3:31 p.m. A court summons was issued to the owner of the suspected vehicle on a charge of leaving the scene of an accident. An alert was issued to Salem and Marblehead police to watch for the vehicle.
A caller reported that a tenant’s unit at the Tannery Apartments on Warren Street was “incredibly dirty” and she was concerned for the health of a dachshund that lived there.
Gerald P. Sasso, 49, of 22 Intervale Ave., Peabody, was arrested following a report of a domestic incident at a Hampshire Road residence at 9:32 p.m. He was charged with domestic assault and battery.
A neighbor reported hearing heavy machinery operating on Centennial Drive at 2:49 a.m. An officer tracked the source of the noise to a landscaping company blowing out the lot at 10 Centennial Drive. The workers were advised to “shut it down” for the night.
The roadway was temporarily closed near a Route 128 off-ramp and Centennial Drive after a tree came down at 12:24 p.m. State police responded to the scene, while city work crews removed the tree.
A caller at Eagan Place reported that teens were smoking marijuana at 1:21 p.m. An officer located two people on Aborn Street and advised them to stay away from the area.
A hypodermic needle was found on Clifton Avenue at 6:55 p.m.
A caller reported that there was a large group of people drinking in the street on Harbor Street at 8:55 p.m. An officer said he observed five people walking from a local market, but they didn’t have any open beverages. They were advised to continue moving along.
