Celebrate Rwanda

Tomorrow, find out why it isn’t necessary to travel to central Africa to appreciate the richness of Rwandan culture. Salem State University’s Center for Holocaust and Genocide Studies and North Shore Community College are co-sponsoring the Rwandan Cultural Day Celebration to commemorate Rwandan culture through its arts, music, song, traditional dress and other traditions. In addition to lunch, the event includes presentations by health and education professionals who advocate for Rwandans and a showcase of traditional dance and drumming by Abeza b’Inganzo. The public is invited to the free event from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in Salem State’s Ellison Campus Center, located at 352 Lafayette St. in Salem. The program is made possible by the Cummings Foundation, OneWorld Boston Grant, and North Shore Community College. For more information, contact Robert McAndrews at or 978-542-6815.
