Police responded to a 2:46 a.m. report of a disturbance at 28 Osgood St. and determined a man had awakened to find another man in his bedroom. “When he verbally challenged this person, he fled down the stairs and out the front door,” wrote police. The resident gave chase, but the other man jumped over a back fence and fled. Police were unable to locate him.
An 8:52 a.m. report that a man was trying to kick in a door brought police to 27 Garden Terrace. Subsequently arrested was Wellington Pinales-Garcia, 25, of 46 Walnut St., Peabody, on charges of illegal possession of a class A substance and possession with intent to distribute in a school zone.
Police received a 9:24 a.m. report that kids were “displaying physical emotion” on a lawn at 3 Cauldron Court. Police wrote: “Upon arrival ... two individuals were sitting on the lawn not engaged in any suspicious activity.” They were subsequently returned to Salem High School “as they were supposed to be in school today,” according to the log.
A Loring Avenue man reported at 2:16 p.m. that somebody had entered his front porch overnight and stolen three flags, including an American flag, a colonial flag and a Commonwealth of Massachusetts flag. “No damage was done to the porch and no forced entry was made,” wrote police.
Police responded to a 4:11 p.m. report of an assault in a store on Klop Alley, where an employee said they’d asked a man to stop videotaping inside the business and that he had refused. The man alleged that the employee had pushed him, which the employee denied. There were no arrests or injuries reported.
Police were unable to locate two suspicious boys with duffel bags who were reported to be in the area of Dayton Street and Moulton Terrace at 10:07 a.m.
