Sergio J. Chilel, 28, of Lynn was arrested on charges of operating a motor vehicle with a license after being pulled over on Proctor Street, according to a 4:23 p.m. report.
Michael J. Daley, 29, of 8 Chandler St., Salem, was arrested at 5:39 p.m. at his home on a default warrant for charges of witness intimidation and assault and battery.
An Essex Street man reported that a man knocked on the door around 7:30 a.m. and said he was from National Grid checking frozen pipes. The homeowner became suspicious when he asked for identification and the man produced what looked like a bank card. The homeowner told the man everything appeared to be fine, and “the man then stated, “OK, I’ll tell them at the office” and left, according to the police report.
A woman on Geneva Street reported at 9:21 a.m. that someone threw an egg at her car. It appears the egg came from the direction of Hancock Street, where the woman has had problems with neighbors, according to the log.
Carlos Ortiz, 42, of Lynn was arrested on charges of his third offense of operating after a license revocation and a warrant out of Gloucester after being pulled over on Highland Avenue, according to a 9:40 a.m. report.
A burglary was reported at 10 Arbella St. at 1:42 p.m. A woman reported that the rear door had been broken into and two laptop computers had been stolen.
A counterfeit $20 bill was reported at Gulf Express on Andover Street at 10 p.m.
A shoplifting was reported at Kohl’s at the Liberty Tree Mall at 2:35 p.m.
Anderson Vazquez, 27, and Gerardo Wchevarria, 18, both of Lynn, were arrested at 4:38 p.m. on charges of larceny over $250 at Kohl’s at the Liberty Tree Mall.
A Greenwood Road resident reported at 10:02 a.m. that his house was egged overnight. He told police there was no damage, but he wanted the department to be aware of the situation.
