Shawn M. Negri, 26, of 5 Porter Street Court, Salem, was arrested at 12:36 a.m. and charged with disorderly conduct after police and firefighters responded to a pedestrian accident on lower Lafayette Street.
Police received a report at 7:30 p.m. of a shoplifter who stole a box of condoms. Police stopped the man on Highland Avenue, and he was brought back to the store, where he returned the condoms and police gave him a no-trespass order.
A taxi driver from Salem Taxi was cited for failure to stop for a pedestrian at a crosswalk at 9:20 p.m. after he struck a man on Washington Street at the Lynde Street intersection, according to police. The taxi driver told police he did not see the man, who suffered "multiple minor injuries." The pedestrian was taken to Salem Hospital.
Police responded to Crombie Street at 8:46 a.m. for a report of an injured opossum. The opossum had severe back leg injuries, so police euthanized the animal and disposed of it at the public works facility.
Police received a report at 9:30 a.m. of a homeless man sleeping in the bushes. The man was gone when police arrived.
The superintendent at Kernwood Country Club reported to police at 11:36 a.m. that 10 bundles of copper wire for a new irrigation system were stolen from the course sometime since Friday. The wires were at numerous tees and greens when the thefts occurred. The superintendent said he and the company that is installing the new irrigation lines have come up with a way to prevent any further thefts. The 10 bundles are worth approximately $3,000.
Police received a report at 12:33 p.m. of homeless people setting up camp on Grove Street.
Danilo Grkovich, 30, of 410 Salem St., Wakefield, was arrested at 12:39 a.m. and charged with drunken driving, speeding and having no inspection sticker, following a motor vehicle stop on Essex Street. Patrolman Joe Achadinha made the arrest.
Kevin F. Greelish, 62, of 64 Clark Road, Ipswich, was arrested at 7:48 p.m. and charged with disorderly conduct on Linebrook Road.
Benjamin Hale, 24, of 49 Tenney Road, Rowley, was arrested at 1:12 a.m. and charged with drunken driving (second offense), driving recklessly to endanger, speeding, a stop sign violation and a marked lanes violation, following a motor vehicle stop on Linebrook Road by Route 1.
Police received a report at 9:19 p.m. of a man passed out on the stairs at Pilgrim Church on Cabot Street. The man was taken to Beverly Hospital.
Police received a report at 12:39 a.m. of a man passed out in the bathroom of Burger King on the Route 128 north.
Police received a report at 11:20 a.m. of a car break-in on Water Street.
Firefighters responded to 20 Sohier Road at 7:27 p.m., following a fire alarm activation that started when a resident left a Tupperware cover on the stove. The resident fell and suffered a cut on the head.
Alexis D. Matos, 22, of 61 Sohier Road, Beverly, was arrested at 2:41 a.m. and charged with aggravated assault and battery, disorderly conduct, and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, following a report of a pregnant woman being abused.
Agnaldo A. DeSouza, 33, of 40 Paleologos St., Apt. 2, Peabody, was arrested at 9:48 p.m. and charged with driving while unlicensed, following a motor vehicle stop on Tracey Street.
Sarah Rainone, 25, of 11 Mill St., Apt. 2, Beverly, was arrested at 12:35 p.m. and charged with larceny by a single scheme at Sears.
Police received a report at 8:30 p.m. of a break-in at a home on Regent Drive.
Police received a report at 1:50 p.m. of an attempted break-in at an Arrowhead Road home.
