Two to be honored at Salem Award ceremony tonight

---- — SALEM — Two men who stood up for victims of human rights violations will receive the 2013 Salem Award tonight.

Thomas Doyle, a priest who exposed sexual abuse within the Catholic Church, will share this year’s prize with Horace Seldon, a former minister who dedicated his life to fighting racism.

They will be honored at a 7:30 p.m. ceremony at the Peabody Essex Museum.

Adult tickets are $10. Free reservations for Salem residents and Salem State University students are available at City Hall and at the SSU Student Life office.
